So, yeah: that project I’ve been working on. Modeling was finished over a month ago. Materials setup and polish was finished about 2 weeks ago. Now I’m knee-deep in the nitty-gritty of putting all this stuff together in some sort of presentable/shareable fashion. “Intern work,” if I ever met one who understood what it is I’m doing, so it’s a solo effort for now, at least. Rendering, realizing I’m off a few digits, rendering again, and again. Oh, maybe the turnarounds should be 90 frames instead of 60, yeah? Yeah. Re-rendering for all 6 characters. Ooooh, an AO render would be pretty slick, we haven’t done that before, have we? No, we haven’t, but I agree–great idea! Render those now.

Wash, rinse, re-wash, re-rinse, towel off, and jump back in again. Not a complaint, it’s actually part of the fun TBH. Took me my entire like to learn to love the entire process. I often tell my students that they need to do the same, and that the more you do something, the better you get it at it. One of the things I enjoy about this part of the process is I get the practice composition, graphic design, and discover what exactly it is I’ve been trying to capture for all these years. And, with the demands of my day job, those spaces in between are where the next round of project ideas are born. I’m already in very early research stages for that one.
Anyway, looking forward to sharing this one when it’s time. Most likely at the end of the month, because…timing is everything. Check your ephemeris, real ones know what I’m talking about.
Back to it!
